One of the world’s most beloved Christmas carols, “The Twelve Days of Christmas” famously enumerates a series of increasingly grandiose gifts given on each of the twelve days of Christmas, ultimately leaving singers with 364-gifts from a “true love.”
A ‘cumulative’ song, each verse is built on top of the previous verses. It has been one of the most popular and oft-recorded Christmas songs in America and Europe throughout the past century. This extraordinary, legal tender series of 12-coins of pure silver, “The Twelve Days of Christmas” honours this classic Christmas song with exceptionally charming renderings depicting each verse in exceptional high-relief. Each issue is uniquely different, and yet, as a whole, the collection retains a distinctive holiday aesthetic that is both joyous and elegant. The reverse of each coin features the effigy of the issuing country. The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sovereign of the Commonwealth and Niue, along with the year of issue (2010) and the denomination of $2. Extremely limited world wide mintage of 1500 sets.
